Canon Ixus 800 Is Memory Card Error
There is a tiny tab on the left side of the SD card (when you are reading the front, tab is on left side). I assume I need a new memory card, but I'm afraid that the problem will occur again. Taped Locking Tab Slot FIX 5: If you've come this far and you're still getting a "card locked" error, it may be time to consider opening the camera to force open it could be the memory card is to big, quite a lot of compact cameras only take 1 or 2gb memory cards, although this may have changed since i had one, needs a fair bit of pressure to make it go in and click into place. Canon Ixus 145 Memory Card
I had just used my memory card in my iMac and when I returned it to the camera the card locked . This one is the back of the camera with the case taken off. Canon was going to charge $129 to repair, obviously that was a no go. Is it possibly the card? Memory Card Error Canon Yey the toothpick trick worked!

My guess is it's like a factory reset because when you turn the camera back on you have to reset the date and time. After loading set of images on my laptop and putting the card back in to camera, screen displayed "Card Locked!" message. I'd NEVER touch canon again. For some reason, after almost filling the card I received a memory card locked error. August 2, 2012 at 7:02 PM Camera Repair said... Formatting the card in the camera will correct both these problems, BUT it will also erase all photos on the card.

Format the card in the camera it is to be used in. The new card reader did fix this trouble Cost $20. I said most, but unfortunately not all. Sorry, but a SDHC card may not work with your older camera (check your camera maker's website for your model).
