Canon Lens Error
My sister dropped my brand new Casio Exilim ex-z80 on brick, with the lens open!!! It might just be i really messed up my camera but i tried ALLL of the ways and nothing worked... Anyone else out there have any success by applying a tiny bit of oil around the lens barrel? Other variations include blowing with a hair dryer in "no heat" setting, or sucking the gaps with a vacuum (careful with this one). this content

If the lens extends even further, grab it again at its furthest extension, preventing it from returning. If it occurs, Fix 5a would likely be the best technique to correct this problem. We've been through 7 different cameras and a few times it was because the camera was dropped. Another cause is that sand, dust, and dirt will accumulate in the bottom of the case if it is not cleaned regularly (and lint for pockets).

A repair shop had estimated £50 just to open it up (no guarantee of fixing it) and it was all looking hopeless... In some cases, the lens might extend or retract to a certain amount, but not fully.
