Pushing the lens didn't work but tapping the USB cover on my desk did! This got the lens to retract, which was an improvement, but was still getting stuck while zooming. Now this! Once, when turning on the camera when the battery was very low, the lens extended, the camera turned itself off with the lens still extended.After recharging the battery, when I turn well, by the 7th (10th?) time, I tried hitting it from the top right side, and, miraculously everything fell back into place.

Thanks! Can't view anything other than the start-up screen. There was one position on the zoom dial that will take a clear picture but it took a while to find it. I have a Nixon Coolpix L6.
