Canon A-70 E18 Error
There are several forums on the net that mention that connecting the camera to the TV completely resolved the E18 error. 2) A camera lens is out-of-focus. You can also post your own problems. The lens will get stuck in the extended position, and refuse to move either to focus the lens or to retract when powered off. In its place it has adopted the more common term "lens error" that other manufacturers use. check over here

What you need next is air pressure. There is a service memo out that is posted on their website http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/co...3&modelid=8777that offers to make repairs free of charge. Notify me of new posts via email.

I guess the steps bellow can be tried before disassembling the camera: 1) Turn on the camera, hopefully the telescope will come out. 2) Hold the telescope with your fingers 3) Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended.

Thanks! It is a problem well known by users of Canon Powershot and Ixus cameras. Whenever I turn the camera on now, the E18 pops up and then the camera turns off.
