I have all kind of things on my other drive that I just can't lose. woo-hoo! ding! The thing where I went astray was that Parallels still gave the option to "use your VM devices" listing Bootcamp as an option. Source
If you're having disc errors, is she using a copy or the original SP2 CD? Any other ideas would be appreciated. I've had far more problems installing Windows on commercially-made PCs than on those I've built myself. I was able to create a new MBR, which now allows me to select Windows from the boot menu, except now I get: "Disk Read Error Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to Restart" From Press CTRL ALT DEL to restart" error.Ok, it is confirmed. I was beginning a trip and then my laptop crashed with this infernal error. I don't know how to save it because nothing seem to work. Of course that's what I did thinking maybe my kids did something but at the start up I got the same msg again.
