You can then right-click the "Installer.cmd" file and select "Run as Administrator." You'll see the progress of the installation in a Command Prompt window. There is no tool to tweak WMC's Media Foundation protected decoding path. Hoping but not holding my breath for a future Windows update to fix what has been broken.
