I i tried the pushing it in and its gone all funny. If the camera is still under warranty I would advise you to send the camera in to Canon by going to the Canon PowerShot SD850 IS Product Repair Webpage to have i had tried sticking the cord in to charge it and i tried hitting it and what not haha, but yeahh! No quick fixes work.
After a bit of research I decide to strip the entire camera down and clean everything. There are other techniques listed from readers there that just might work for your situation. After gently but firmly tapping the A/V out corner of the camera 4 or 5 times it works like a charm again.THANK YOU VERY MUCH! Should have looked first eh? (old adage; When all else fails read the instructions). If this doesn't work, see the third anonymous comment above from the person with an EX-S600. I turn the power on and makes a funny clicking noise like its trying to retract the lens back in.
My heart sank.Sadly, I disconnected the AV cable from the computer and camera in dismay and Poof.. It took a few gentle pushes and had to turn camwra on and off a few times and repeat gentle pushes and every time heard a couple of clicks. Thank you so much for the helpful tips! Or ...
