Thank you to this website for helping me troubleshoot. the lens must be replaced. Is there anything you suggest I do or am i due for a new camera? Unfortunately, it's difficult to access these components in the elph series cameras (a lot of things in the way). Thanks. Lens Error Canon Powershot Sx100 I have a Casio Exilim EX-z77 and I brought it with me to the beach this weekend. If the lens doesn't extend at all or it extends, and then retracts again, do the following.
But if they quote you a number that's higher than the value of your camera, you may want to consider the following methods.
Try it a couple of times and bang it very gently on the table. I did notice the superficial disfigurement that is on the outer shell of the lens, but this shouldn't cause this error as on occasions, the camera turns on, the lens extends cost about $120.00 plus shipping to fix.
