Canon Powershot Camera Lens Error

Tried everything, then found : "Another version of this fix would be to pull and twist on the (longest, smallest diameter) ring of the lens while turning the camera on. I use a PowerShot SD600 at work everyday too. Only consider this fix as an absolute last resort before tossing the camera, as there's some obvious potential for further damaging your camera by using this method. Very disappointing, as we have always cared greatly for our camera, and it is my picture source for EBay and My Seniors. If not, it may at least allow an extra 10-15 shots. I referred to the following link for this tip. I took the camera to a reputable repair shop that sent it off to Canon for repairs. Like everything else manufactured this day and age, digital cameras are no different....its all over-priced,disposable junk. Bingo it suddenly started behaving although it was still convinced that the memory card was faulty even when I gave it a new one until I took out the battery and For how long, I don't know... As a result, Canon has since dropped the use of this error code in its newer cameras. No information on Canon website, no canon service.
