Again, the goal is to attempt to straighten or align the barrel if it's crooked or twisted. Otherwise, I'll likely just give up on it. I tried the blow-dryer again today and that didn't work, so I tried banging my camera on the carpet, and OMG, it worked. The lens will get stuck in the extended position, and refuse to move either to focus the lens or to retract when powered off.
The camera will instruct me to turn off the power and then on again but the same problem happens. I pushed hard on the side that was up with no change. A repair shop had estimated £50 just to open it up (no guarantee of fixing it) and it was all looking hopeless...
