Canon Eos Error 05 Flash
Tried it over and over--sometimes it would go 'rat tat' and open, sometimes would open immediately, then do the 'rat tat tat', error 5 over and over. Your solution worked for me too (Canon T2i). It's not difficult, just fiddly. Is there an easy fix for this? I don't regret that purchase, but it was a pain if I wanted to get a quick pic and had the camera on full auto or something and didn't realize it. The Flash does not pop up as expected. This means it worked. I sprayed it once into the exact hinge you specified and my 550D flash is back to its usual self. Flash Canon Eos 40d I was actually looking to disable the internal flash altogether when I stumbled upon this page. Flash Canon Eos 20d WD-40 in theory should not destroy any electronics (and in many instances is used to fix electronics) but you should still exercise great caution when using it.

The same caveats apply as with WD-40 or any other lubricant--use only the minimum necessary to do the job, and place it precisely. I recommend using the least amount possible.
