i dont have an extra drive so i am unable to install xp on another drive and test the array from windows. this memory i know works on my friends machine. Is the Asus model number correct? this memory i know works on my friends machine.
Problem is, the motherboard's BIOS does not seem to have the right option for it, as 'SCSI' does not work. tried installing windows with no raid 0 config and usign the sataraid drivers with both disks, still same problem. does that mean the controller is shot try installing to a ide drive thanks again What SATA Controller BIOS version are you running? Do all of the above, then post back mate.
I also ran into a few other problems (task scheduler will not start when i click on it).microsoft management console "stops working" instantly. I downloaded the beta drivers from Silicon Image's website and Windows XP finally accepted them. I think you should have started a new thread since this is a much different subject than the original thread. they need to have sata since i have sata drives.
Is this true? Everything works fine except windows backup i insert a dvd disk and the system formats it and then start backup, when the disk is full the dvds drive keeps run and What happens is that the SATA disc isn't detected at boot by the motherboard's BIOS. Sorry we couldn't resolve your problems, but like I said, it looks like it is not a config or other component problem, but a fault or flaw with the motherboard.

After some time when i shutdown it and restart it start giving error that boot mgr file is corrupt.
