You can add back the second parallel device and change the BIOS settings as you go. Please, any help? I hope somebody can help us. I have the 7100 build key but thought I had not complied with MS rules and they shut it down. Clearly this is becoming a known issue, and I hope that it is only a matter of time before Intel addresses it... Thanks oldmanjim You were right on rbmorse it was hard drive failure. Also, remove any add-in cards that are not > required to get video. They even went as far as telling me I needed to flash bios on my hard drive (come on, that's ridiculous)...

The drive is only 1 yr old. Hope this helps iron out some of the guess work on this issue... Do you hear that it is somewhat quiet inside the comp when your comp is at the boot disk message? On the second board, I used the 512 MB video card, but I used my existing IDE HD.
