No beeps when I have my IDE hard drive plugged in. They are codes indicating the situation before XP loads - usually hardware.Is it three short, one long two short (beep-beep-beep or beep-beeeeep-beeeeep... Cool...well not so much. Or run with a single stick.

All that being said, it still bothers me that just the act of installing a couple memory DIMMS not supported by the mobo would cause such extensive damage. This is a discussion on Stuck at POST, no bios, no boot, no errors in POST, BBS won't respond. Note I have one standard IDE drive © and 2 SATA drives.

I am able to get past the 0078 code by having the drives disconnected and booting to a cd, then connecting the sata cables while the system boots from the cd. I decided to take this opportunity to install Window 7(it had been running XP) Not paying attention i tried installing the 64bit version, and it got stuck in the reboot loop or read our Welcome Guide to learn how to use this site. This user had no access to anything.
