Use the Boot Camp Utility to delete the Windows partition, run Disk Utility to make sure nothing got messed up, (probably reboot just to be sure), and try again. You haven't "condemned" your computer, just confused it. This has been a nightmare. Disk Read Error Boot Camp This, of course is the wrong mind set.

But that only says whether it boots, not whether it will actually install. And after like the 10th restart, the problem got to macOS X ... As the BC documentation says, you still have to use the Windows Installer's format option to reformat the partition so that it's bootable. You're going to need your OS X disc, and you're going to have to go through the whole installation sequence with OS X to get it back.
